About Maria

Relatable. Encouraging. Passionate.

Hello. I'm Maria Schuba, a Certified Personal Trainer, a Pre and Postnatal Fitness Specialist, a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach and a Menopause Coaching Specialist. I'm mom to 2 teens and we like to be on the go adventuring and keeping active. I'm an avid skier, hiker, gym-goer, fitness instructor and lover of the outdoors.

I've been instructing fitness classes and boot camps for women since 2011. Six years ago, I was certified as a pre and postnatal fitness specialist and a pregnancy and postpartum athleticism coach, a niche and focus I am very passionate of.

And now in my 50’s, I have been diving into all things about the menopause transition. Because, it is a ride, my friends.

Strength training, mobility and conditioning are key no matter what stage of life you’re in.

I specialize in safe and effective personal training and fitness for prenatal and postnatal women.

"Always be looking for that which you do well and that which you love doing and when you find these two things together - Man you got it."

I coach and train women on how an active life, pre and post baby, can relate to an easier pregnancy, delivery and recovery.

I provide support and guidance during the menopause transition, helping you navigate the physical changes that come with menopause.

I teach perimenopausal women the importance of strength training, mobility work and conditioning and how they can make the day to day movements easier. And can help you move with ease into the future!

I help women gain strength, build confidence and get back to doing what they love.

I believe exercise should be fun. I don't believe exercise is a form of punishment for something that you ate or because of the vacation you just took. I believe in everything in moderation. Even moderation.

My Core Value

I believe we need to move in order to live our life the way we want. I exercise so I can ski down a bump run with my kids, go kayaking with my husband and hike into the backcountry with my girlfriends.

I exercise because I want to continue to do these things for the next 20 years.

I believe you shouldn't have to punish yourself with exercise because you had a weekend 'off your plan.'

I believe if you can't see yourself doing what you're doing (i.e., eating and exercising) next month or next year, then it's not sustainable. It's not real life.

My Philosophy

My movement is usually one of 2 things. Efficient or Enjoyable. Sometimes it is both, but not typically. Let me explain.

I don't love to exercise. I mean lift weights. Core exercises. Spin bike. But I do it. Because I know it's important.
For my muscles, my bones and my heart. So that I can continue to move freely as I get older.
And yes, I do like how it makes me feel afterwards in both mind and body.
I don't spend a lot of time doing these things. But I get 'er done.
However, there is a LOT of movement that is extremely enjoyable for me. And I actually NEED the 'efficient' exercise to make the stuff I love even better.

For example...

Skiing. I need strong legs to ski long runs.

Hiking. I need strong legs and good cardiovascular system to get me to the top of a mountain.

Cross country skiing - strong arms, legs and core.

See where I'm going?

These are the things I really enjoy and I want to continue to do them for a very long time. These things ADD to my day to day living and I spend a lot of time moving - exercising - this way. So I need to do the efficient exercises so that I can continue to do the enjoyable exercises.

Movement is key if you want to keep moving.... if you want to keep up to your kids.... if you want to do all the stuff you haven't had the time to do, once work calms down or the kids are out of the house.

But it doesn't ALL have to be stuff you hate. Find the stuff that you love. And well, if there's just nothing you absolutely love to do, I recommend sticking to the quick efficient exercises.

Cause you gotta move if you want to keep moving.
